SANDCOAT

A superior quality textured, water-based acrylic formulation. Top Paints SANDCOAT is extremely durable, flexible and weather resistant.

All surfaces must be clean, dry, sound, free from grease, oil, dirt and other surface contaminants.

New Surfaces

Cement plaster, fibre-cement, concrete, stone and brick:
The surface must be completely dry before commencing with painting, concrete – 4 weeks, 2 weeks for other masonry surfaces. Top Paints’ Plaster Primer or Top Paints’ Fillercoat can be applied directly to the surface. If the surface is very powdery, sand down and remove dust. Apply Top Paints’ Bonding Liquid and leave to dry for at least 24 hours. After Top Paints’ Bonding Liquid has dried for the specified time, Top Paints’ Fillercoat or Top Paints’ Plaster Primer can be applied. Leave to dry for specified time before applying 2 coats SANDCOAT.

Previously Painted Surfaces

Surfaces in good condition:
Remove any flaking or loose paint, use appropriate primer to spot prime bare areas. Clean previous coat of paint and rinse with clean water, allow to dry.

Surfaces in poor condition:
Remove any loose particles by means of wire brush and sandpaper, or best suitable method. Treat as new surface. Apply Top Paints’ Bonding Liquid and leave 24 hours to dry, or apply Top Paints’ Plaster Primer. After Top Paints’ Bonding Liquid has dried apply a coat of Top Paints’ Fillercoat. Apply 2 coats SANDCOAT.

Limewash:
Remove by wire brushing, sanding, scraping, etc. until underlying surface is exposed. Apply Top Paints’ Plaster Primer.

Filling:
Use appropriate and approved filler.

Packaging
1, 5 and 20 litres.

Storage
Store away from direct sunlight, heat and severe cold. Keep container sealed and avoid moisture contact.

Caution
During Winter months painting should be restricted to between 09H00 and 15H00, in Summer painting can be done between 08H00 and 16H00. Exterior surfaces – Do not paint if rain is imminent.
